Meet Bernard Johnson, also known as “BJ,” a litigation attorney at Daniel Stark.
With extensive experience in the legal field, BJ specializes in courtroom representation, mediation, and evidence collection.
He has consistently ranked among The National Trial Lawyers’ Top 100 Trial Lawyers and has been recognized by organizations such as the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Texas Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, BJ graduated from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory High School and had the honor of being elected Student Body President. While studying at the University of Houston, he recalls enjoying sociology courses — driven by a desire to understand others and make a positive impact in their lives.
After graduating from the University of Houston in 1990, BJ worked as an account executive in medical sales for several years. He was a nationally ranked top producer. However, his passion for helping people through difficult situations eventually led him to pursue law.
During law school, BJ discovered personal injury law and became deeply invested in the stories of individuals who had suffered harm. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1996, now committed to helping injured people navigate the legal process.
BJ’s career in the legal field began at a long standing and well-respected personal injury law firm in Houston, where he spent 27 years advocating for his clients. An aspect of personal injury law that surprised BJ was dealing with denied claims. He encountered numerous cases where insurance companies denied his clients’ claims and refused to acknowledge the full extent of their injuries. These experiences fueled BJ’s determination to be the voice for his clients and protect them through this daunting process.
Recently, BJ joined the team at Daniel Stark, drawn by our firm’s supportive environment. According to BJ, our workplace culture helps maximize our legal efforts and ensures that our clients receive the full value they deserve.
BJ believes it is very important to connect with clients on a personal level. He takes the time to learn about their unique stories, their families, and their passions. Developing personal relationships allows BJ to provide tailored aid to each client, making sure they feel cared for throughout their legal journey.
BJ’s commitment to his community extends beyond legal work. Recognized for his pro bono legal services, he has also volunteered as a judge in the Milam County Texas High School Moot Court Competition. In addition, BJ has served as an instructor for The Boy Scouts of America Golden Arrow Merit Series-Law Badge, where he shares his expertise with young aspiring legal professionals.
Outside of the office, BJ enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. Whether it’s fishing, observing wildlife, or basking in the beauty of Texas, he embraces outdoor activities that allow him to unwind and recharge from his legal work.
With over 27 years of experience in personal injury law, BJ’s extensive legal knowledge and care for his clients make him an invaluable asset at Daniel Stark. BJ ensures that his clients receive remarkable representation and support as they seek the full value of their injuries and losses.
With BJ by their side, our clients can trust that their best interests are always prioritized, and their unique story will be told.
