As product liability attorneys, we help victims who have been injured by defective products seek maximum compensation for their injuries. Most of the time, these products are everyday consumer purchases that turn out to have dangerous defects, such as exploding e-cigarette devices. Word gets out pretty quickly of the dangers of these products, allowing consumers to avoid purchasing one of their own. That’s not usually the case for vehicle defects, especially when it comes to airbags.
Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently confirmed that an eleventh person has now died from a defective Takata airbag. If you haven’t heard about the dangers of Takata airbags, the manufacturer produced a large number of airbags with a manufacturing defect that causes the bags to rupture when inflated. That rupture can cause serious injuries, and to date, has caused eleven deaths.
Here’s a list of vehicles from the NHTSA which are deemed as holding substantially higher risk:
- 2001-2002 Honda Civic
- 2001-2002 Honda Accord
- 2002-2003 Acura 3.2TL
- 2002 Honda CR-V
- 2002 Honda Odyssey
- 2003 Acura 3.2CL
- 2003 Honda Pilot
