Meet Michael Loh, a prelitigation attorney at Daniel Stark.

Michael is a first generation born US citizen. His parents immigrated from Malaysia as young adults and settled into the Galveston area. This is where Michael grew up, playing basketball with his friends and gaining an interest in tennis throughout high school.

He went to the University of Houston where he received his degree in finance. Upon graduation, he took on the role of a property tax consultant for a short period before enrolling in South Texas College to study law.

After graduating from law school, Michael started working temporarily at a firm, primarily focusing on document review. He soon transitioned to a similar position reviewing contracts for tax credits.

However, he wanted something more stable and fulfilling. In 2014, he applied to multiple firms and landed several interviews, including one with Daniel Stark. He and his wife drove to Bryan for the first time. After a single interview, he was offered a job on the same day.

Michael needed some time to consider the offer because accepting would mean moving to Bryan. That evening, he received a call from the firm to talk about the position. He accidentally accepted — without consulting his wife. They moved to College Station, where Michael spent his days in the Bryan office and his nights sleeping in the doghouse.

After some time spent at DS in Bryan, he transferred offices and became our first personal injury lawyer in Killeen, Texas. Reflecting on the last time he made a big decision, he turned to his wife to see if she was ready for another move.

They ultimately decided to accept the transfer, and it turned out to be a great decision for them. He says he and his wife enjoy Killeen. It is in the middle of several larger cities, which provides great travel opportunities.

Michael says that Daniel Stark stands out because people who work here actually like the people they work with. At first, he thought that fellow employees said they love their job because that is what you’re supposed to say. However, once he joined the team, he quickly learned that it’s truly enjoyable to work here.

His favorite parts of the job are helping people, making connections, and knowing that he made a difference in their lives. He finds satisfaction in knowing that clients feel understood and supported during challenging times.

Outside of work, Michael is a devoted family man. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young children. His hobbies include playing video games like League of Legends, collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and following the NBA.

He attributes his strong work ethic to his parents. Michael is thankful for the many late nights they put in to give him and his sister a great life. He’s proud that he has a career that will allow him to care for them as they get older, just as they have done for him.

Michael, you are a valuable asset to our team. You take on heavy workloads and do your best to get your clients’ lives back on track. We appreciate you!
